В Алтайских горах есть необычное место. Оно называется урочище Кызыл-Чин. Люди часто называют его «радужными горами Алтая». Это очень красивое место, и оно похоже на другую планету.
In the Altai Mountains there is an unusual place. It is called the Kizil-Chin tract. People often call it the "rainbow mountains of Altai". It is a very beautiful place, and it looks like another planet.
Горы здесь разного цвета: красные, жёлтые, зелёные и оранжевые. Почему так? Потому что в камнях много разных металлов. Марганец даёт сиреневый цвет, железо — красный, а хром — жёлтый. Цвета меняются от света. Утром горы выглядят особенно красиво.
The mountains here are of different colors: red, yellow, green and orange. Why is that? Because there are many different metals in the rocks. Manganese gives a lilac color, iron gives red, and chromium gives yellow. The colors change with the light. In the morning, the mountains look especially beautiful.
Здесь почти нет растений. Всё вокруг напоминает Марс. Даже указатели пишут «Марс». Горы имеют разную форму. Есть глубокие овраги, высокие столбы и пологие склоны.
There are almost no plants here. Everything around resembles Mars. Even signs say "Mars". The mountains have different shapes. There are deep ravines, high pillars, and gentle slopes.
Рядом течёт река. Она берёт воду из горных ледников. Днём лёд тает, и река течёт. Ночью, когда солнца нет, река почти стоит на месте.
Nearby flows a river. It takes water from mountain glaciers. During the day the ice melts, and the river flows. At night, when there is no sun, the river almost stands still.
Миллионы лет назад здесь было море. Поэтому сейчас на земле можно найти ракушки и сухие водоросли.
Millions of years ago there was a sea here. Therefore, now on the ground you can find shells and dry algae.
До первой горы можно доехать на машине. Дальше нужно идти пешком. Туристов здесь немного. В основном приезжают гости с местных турбаз.
You can drive to the first mountain by car. Further you need to walk. There are not many tourists here. Mostly guests from local tourist bases come.
